The Oistrach Symphony Orchestra will present an all Mahler concert on Sunday, May 21st at 7 PM at the DePaul University Concert Hall at 800 W. Belden.
World class mezzo soprano Susanne Mentzer will be a participant, singing Kindertotenlieder as well as performing in the 4th Symphony. Ms. Mentzer is well known as a soloist with both the Chicago Lyric Opera and the Metropolitan Opera so this is a special opportunity. I've heard this group previously and they are very fine. It is partially composed of DePaul School of Music students and is directed by Mina Zikri, a standing member of Daniel Barenboim's West Eastern Divan Orchestra.
This event is free to the public. Street parking is available in the neighborhood.
So fun article is! I agree the idea!
